Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Flood Advisory issued June 9 at 12:52AM CDT until June 9 at 4:45AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Johnson County in east central Kansas... Southern Leavenworth County in northeastern Kansas... Wyandotte County in northeastern Kansas... * WHEN...Until 445 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1252 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
