Severe frosts with temperatures down to -4 degrees which can cause significant crop damage are forecast for Thursday morning in parts of the West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts. Frost Warning Temperatures at ground level can be many degrees lower than those recorded by standard weather stations, especially in calm conditions with very clear skies.

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and northerly winds are expected during Thursday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the East Gippsland forecast district.
