Flood Watch issued September 25 at 3:50PM CDT until September 27 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of north central Alabama, including the following counties, Cullman, Limestone, Madison and Morgan and southern middle Tennessee, including the following counties, Lincoln and Moore. * WHEN...Through Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A Flood Watch has been issued for north east and north central Alabama and southern middle Tennessee due to anticipated rainfall from Helene as the tropical system moves inland. 3-5 inches of rain are forecast for area in the Flood Watch with locally higher totals of 6-7 inches possible. The highest risk for Flash Flooding will be overnight Thursday into Friday morning. Terrain influences may lead to enhanced runoff increasing the Flash Flood threat in valley locations. River flooding will then become a concern Friday into the weekend as additional rainfall continues to contribute to rises on rivers, creeks, and streams. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
