Flood Watch issued September 25 at 3:50PM CDT until September 27 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of north central Alabama, including the following counties, Cullman, Limestone, Madison and Morgan and southern middle Tennessee, including the following counties, Lincoln and Moore. * WHEN...Through Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A Flood Watch has been issued for north east and north central Alabama and southern middle Tennessee due to anticipated rainfall from Helene as the tropical system moves inland. 3-5 inches of rain are forecast for area in the Flood Watch with locally higher totals of 6-7 inches possible. The highest risk for Flash Flooding will be overnight Thursday into Friday morning. Terrain influences may lead to enhanced runoff increasing the Flash Flood threat in valley locations.
