Heat Advisory issued July 5 at 1:10PM AKDT until July 8 at 11:00PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK * WHAT...Hot temperatures as high as 85 expected. * WHERE...Yukon Flats. * WHEN...From 10 AM Tuesday to 11 PM AKDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Individuals not accustomed to these unusually hot temperatures for this region may experience heat related illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High temperatures near 85 degrees expected Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and evenings. The warmest temperatures are expected between 1pm and 10pm. Drink plenty of fluids and check up on elderly and vulnerable relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when working in the sun. Wear sunscreen and lightweight, loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Close curtains during the daytime to reduce sun insolation into the home and open windows at night to allow the home to cool off. Utilize fans or community buildings with air conditioning.
