Special Weather Statement issued May 22 at 4:47AM CDT by NWS Little Rock AR At 447 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Salem in Saline County to 6 miles west of Benton to 6 miles west of Lonsdale. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Little Rock... North Little Rock... Hot Springs... Benton... Sherwood... West Little Rock... Bryant... Downtown Little Rock... Southwest Little Rock... Haskell... Shannon Hills... Wrightsville... Argenta... Rockport... Traskwood... Tull... Lonsdale... Otter Creek... Ironton... Estes... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
