Flood Watch issued July 18 at 2:13AM EDT until July 19 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, including the following area, New Castle, New Jersey, including the following areas, Camden, Coastal Ocean, Eastern Monmouth, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Southeastern Burlington, Sussex, Warren and Western Monmouth, and Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Berks, Carbon, Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, Lower Bucks, Monroe, Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester and Western Montgomery. * WHEN...From 10 AM EDT this morning through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected for Saturday into Saturday night. Delaware Bay... * Until 645 PM EDT. * At 516 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 nm east of Turkey Point to 16 nm west of Bowers Beach to 7 nm east of Parsons Island, moving east at 30 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Brown Shoal Light, Fourteen Foot Bank Light, Slaughter Beach, Cape Henlopen, East Point, Bowers Beach, Woodland Beach, Stony Point, Cape May Point, Miah Maull Light, Ship John Shoal Light, Brandywine Shoal Light, Fortesque Beach, Sea Breeze, Buoy Ge, Sea Isle City, Cross Ledge Light, and Rehoboth Beach. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central, northern and southern Delaware...southern New Jersey...and the adjacent coastal waters. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water, stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded metal objects. Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or the National Weather Service.
