Western Lake Okeechobee... * Until 630 PM EDT. * At 525 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 6 nm west of Moore Haven to near Lake Harbor, moving north at 20 to 25 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Calusa, Liberty Point, Clewiston, Buckhead Ridge, Moore Haven, and Lake Harbor. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas.
