Flood Advisory issued May 19 at 4:19PM EDT until May 19 at 6:15PM EDT by NWS Charleston SC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following counties, Bryan, Bulloch, Chatham, Effingham and Evans and southeast South Carolina, including the following counties, Beaufort and Jasper. * WHEN...Until 615 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 416 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms were slowly diminishing and pushing south along the Georgia coast. As much as 1 to 3 inches has fallen in some areas today. Some areas remain flooded from the earlier heavy rainfall. Chatham County Emergency Management is reporting that some intersections throughout the county are flooded, but no roadways are currently closed. Similar conditions are likely being observed across adjacent counties in both South Carolina and Georgia. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hilton Head Island, Pooler, Bluffton, Port Royal, Tybee Island, Springfield, Pembroke, Godley Station, Downtown Savannah, Savannah International Airport and I-16/I-95 Interchange. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
