Heat Advisory issued July 22 at 1:17PM MDT until July 25 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Boise ID * WHAT...Temperatures up to 107 expected, hottest on Friday. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Idaho and southeast Oregon. * WHEN...From 2 PM MDT /1 PM PDT/ Thursday to 9 PM MDT /8 PM PDT/ Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, especially for the young, elderly, and animals. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

The thunderstorms are expected to be a mix of wet and dry. Expect gusty and erratic winds up to 45 mph in the vicinity of these thunderstorms. More thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon in eastern Oregon. The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low humidity, which is in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 401 Western Payette National Forest, 402 Eastern Payette National Forest and 423 Owyhee Mountains. * TIMING...From Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. * THUNDERSTORMS...None. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly.
