In northeast Iowa, Buchanan, Delaware and Dubuque. In southeast Iowa, Des Moines, Henry IA, Jefferson, Keokuk, Louisa and Washington. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 3 at 9:59PM CDT until July 3 at 10:30PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL At 957 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Starr's Cave Park and Preserve, or over Burlington, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Burlington, Oquawka, West Burlington, Danville, Stronghurst, Middletown, Carman, Biggsville, Gladstone, Rozetta, Raritan, Gulf Port, Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Media, Welter Recreation Area, Shokokon, Spring Grove, Sperry, Big Hollow Recreation Area, and Pleasant Grove. This also includes Delabar State Park and Henderson County Conservation Area. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
