Flood Watch issued July 2 at 6:48PM CDT until July 3 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Iowa, including the following counties, Buchanan, Delaware and Dubuque. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms are forecast to continue tonight and will be capable of producing heavy rainfall. Storms may repeat over the same areas and result in excessive rainfall. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Special Weather Statement issued July 2 at 7:26PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL At 725 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms with heavy rainfall along a line extending from Colesburg through Manchester to near Alburnett. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and minor flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow around unsecured objects. Slowing or redirecting of traffic due to ponding or flowing water. Closure of waterfront access due to flooding. Locations impacted include... Anamosa, Manchester, Marion, Hiawatha, Dyersville, Monticello, Robins, Center Point, Farley, Central City, Palo, Earlville, Alburnett, Coggon, Hopkinton, Delhi, New Vienna, Colesburg, Worthington, and Holy Cross. This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 27 and 36. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. If the heavy rain continues, a flash flood warning may be needed. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for northeastern and east central Iowa.
