Flood Warning issued June 26 at 5:46AM CDT until June 26 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in south central Kansas, Butler. In southeast Kansas, Greenwood. * WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 546 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated high rainfall accumulations due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Eureka, Leon, Madison, Hamilton, Rosalia, Cassoday, Virgil, Eureka City Lake, Eureka Airport, Thrall, El Dorado State Park and El Dorado Lake. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
