Tornado Watch issued June 10 at 8:50PM CDT until June 10 at 11:00PM CDT by NWS Topeka KS TORNADO WATCH 303, PREVIOUSLY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING, IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 11 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL KANSAS DICKINSON IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS DOUGLAS GEARY LYON MORRIS OSAGE SHAWNEE WABAUNSEE IN NORTHEAST KANSAS BROWN JACKSON JEFFERSON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ABILENE, ALMA, ALTA VISTA, BURLINGAME, CARBONDALE, COUNCIL GROVE, EMPORIA, ESKRIDGE, GRANTVILLE, HARVEYVILLE, HERINGTON, HIAWATHA, HOLTON, HORTON, JUNCTION CITY, LAWRENCE, LYNDON, MAPLE HILL, MCFARLAND, MCLOUTH, MERIDEN, NORTONVILLE, OSAGE CITY, OSKALOOSA, OVERBROOK, PAXICO, PERRY, TOPEKA, AND VALLEY FALLS.

Flood Advisory issued June 10 at 9:16PM CDT until June 11 at 12:15AM CDT by NWS Topeka KS * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east central Kansas, including the following county, Shawnee. * WHEN...Until 1215 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 916 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Topeka, Silver Lake, Auburn and Pauline. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 between mile markers 347 and 355. Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 169 and 182. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
