Extreme Heat Warning issued June 30 at 2:18PM EDT until July 3 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS Louisville KY * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with peak heat index values between 100 and 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Mild overnight temperatures will also not allow for much reprieve from the hot and humid conditions. * WHERE...Portions of south central Indiana and east central, north central, northwest, and south central Kentucky. * WHEN...Until 9 PM EDT /8 PM CDT/ Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Rolling Fork River near Boston affecting Nelson and Hardin Counties. .Heavy rain from the past weekend has caused the river to rise. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Rolling Fork River near Boston. * WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 40.0 feet, Water begins to cross low spots on some county roads. Some homes in flood plain are cutoff. At 42.0 feet, A few homes and trailers outside of Boston flood. At 43.0 feet, Floodwall begins closing in Lebanon Junction. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 42.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 32.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM EDT Tuesday was 42.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage tomorrow morning and continue falling to 9.6 feet early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 35.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 42.2 feet on 07/08/2013. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
