Air Quality Alert issued July 16 at 6:18AM EDT by NWS Boston/Norton MA The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Alert for Fine Particulates, until midnight EDT tonight. An Air Quality Alert day means that Fine Particulates concentrations within the region may approach or exceed levels that are Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Air is unhealthy for sensitive children and adults, such as those with asthma, lung or heart disease, and older adults. Sensitive children and adults should limit prolonged outdoor activity. At 553 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a front, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This front was located near Boston Harbor, moving southwest at 20 knots. Locations impacted include... Boston Harbor, Broad Sound, Quincy Harbor, Boston Buoy 44013, Boston Light, and Minot Light. Expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...briefly rough seas and lightning strikes. Consider heading for safe harbor until this storm passes.
