Flood Watch issued July 9 at 8:20PM CDT until July 11 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and south central Missouri, including the following counties, in central Missouri, Maries, Miller and Pulaski. In east central Missouri, Phelps. In south central Missouri, Dent, Howell, Oregon, Shannon and Texas. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall and localized areas of up to 4 to 7 inches of rain in short spans of time. Special Weather Statement issued July 9 at 9:15PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO At 915 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Freeburg to near Vienna to 8 miles north of Dixon. Movement was southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Belle, Vienna, Brinktown, and Vichy. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for central and east central Missouri.
