Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected in and near the watch area this afternoon through tonight. - Locations in southeast Missouri, including southern Crawford, Reynolds, Iron, and Madison Counties, will be especially susceptible with several inches of rain already received since Thursday evening. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Southern Madison County in southeastern Missouri... * Until 700 AM CDT. * At 342 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Buckhorn and Saco. The most significant flooding is expected in portions of southwestern Madison County. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
