Red Flag Warning issued June 5 at 10:10AM PDT until June 6 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Elko NV The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM PDT Saturday morning until 11 PM PDT Saturday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 426 and 437. * WIND...Sustained southwest winds near 20 mph, with gusts near 35 mph. * HUMIDITY...Minimum relative humidity values as low as 9 percent. * HIGHEST THREAT...is located in zone 426. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
