Flood Watch issued July 9 at 2:03PM EDT until July 10 at 12:00AM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of New Jersey, including the following areas, Atlantic, Coastal Atlantic, Coastal Ocean, Cumberland, Eastern Monmouth, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Ocean, Somerset, Southeastern Burlington and Western Monmouth and southeast Pennsylvania, including the following area, Upper Bucks. * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop through this evening, capable of producing heavy downpours. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour, possibly as high as 3 inches per hour, are likely and short term training could result in flooding over portions of northern, eastern, and southern New Jersey. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Flash Flood Warning issued July 9 at 3:28PM EDT until July 9 at 6:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 328 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Sandy Hook, Middletown, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, Sayreville, Holmdel, Red Bank, Keansburg, Matawan, Jamesburg, Brownville and Lincroft. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike near exit 9. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 111 and 125. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
