Southeastern Ocean County in southern New Jersey... * Until 845 PM EDT. * At 609 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. * Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Barnegat, Surf City, Beach Haven West, Brookville, Warren Grove, Manahawkin, Waretown and Ocean Acres. This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 60 and 74. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

East central Burlington County in southern New Jersey... * Until 730 PM EDT. * At 626 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Warren Grove, or 18 miles southwest of Toms River, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 609 PM EDT, a 65 MPH wind gust was reported at the Ship Bottom mesonet weather station. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Barnegat, Tuckerton, Surf City, Brookville, Warren Grove, Penn State Forest, Beach Haven West, Manahawkin, Ocean Acres, and Waretown. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar. At 609 PM EDT, a 55 knot wind gust was reported at the Ship Bottom mesonet weather station. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high winds.
