Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Plainfield around 1250 PM EDT. Tottenville and Clark around 105 PM EDT. Linden and Huguenot around 115 PM EDT. Elizabeth and Oakwood around 120 PM EDT. Todt Hill and Port Richmond around 125 PM EDT. Newark and Bayonne around 130 PM EDT. The Verrazano Narrows Bridge and Bay Ridge around 135 PM EDT. Jersey City and Coney Island around 140 PM EDT. Battery Park and Park Slope around 145 PM EDT. This includes the following event locations Brooklyn Bridge Park, Sports Illustrated Stadium, Liberty State Park, Governors Island, Sullivans Homeport Pier, Battery Park, Hoboken Waterfront, Hudson River Park Pier 34, and Hunters Point. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.
