Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the heat.

Special Weather Statement issued July 9 at 5:49PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM At 549 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong winds and blowing dust extending from over North Valley to 8 miles west of South Valley, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. Visibility as low as two miles. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Albuquerque, southern Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, Valencia, Corrales, Los Ranchos De Albuquerque, Bosque Farms, South Valley, Isleta Pueblo and North Valley. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 139 and 172. Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 201 and 237. Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce visibility below one mile at times.
