In Texas, Eastern/Central El Paso County, Rio Grande Valley of Eastern El Paso/Western Hudspeth Counties, Rio Grande Valley of Eastern Hudspeth County, and Western El Paso County. * WHEN...Until 9 PM MDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Southeastern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico... Northwestern El Paso County in western Texas... * Until 945 PM MDT. * At 856 PM MDT, a wall of dust was pushing into Santa Teresa and across the Juarez mountains south of downtown El Paso. Radar suggests the outflow winds driving the dust are weakening. But visibility may drop below a mile west of the Franklin Mountains, and to around 2 miles east of the Franklins before the dust dissipates. HAZARD...Less than two miles visibility with strong wind in excess of 30 mph. SOURCE...Doppler radar. IMPACT...Hazardous travel. Locations impacted include... El Paso, Mission Valley, Clint, Santa Teresa, Sunland Park, and Canutillo. Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the brake.
