Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Special Weather Statement issued June 20 at 3:35AM EDT by NWS Buffalo NY At 335 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Niagara Falls, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Buffalo, Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda, Lockport, Kenmore, Tonawanda, Amherst, Williamsville, Grand Island, Newfane, Pendleton, Lewiston, Youngstown, Fort Niagara State Park, Sanborn, Wilson, Clarence Center, Cambria Center, Olcott, and Pendleton Center. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
