HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Durham, Chapel Hill, Burlington, Graham, Hillsborough, Creedmoor, Carrboro, Mebane, Butner, and Elon. This includes the following highways... Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 163 and 194. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 137 and 162, and between Mile Markers 259 and 280. the Durham Freeway between Mile Markers 5 and 17. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Dont wait until you see the first lightning flash before heading to safety. Move indoors at the first sign of threatening skies or the first sound of thunder.
