Heat Advisory issued July 7 at 1:33AM EDT until July 7 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC * WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected. * WHERE...Cumberland, Harnett, Johnston, Sampson, and Wayne Counties. * WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 7 at 5:37PM EDT until July 7 at 5:45PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm. Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for portions of Sampson and Cumberland Counties.
