Extreme Heat Warning issued July 12 at 6:36AM CDT until July 14 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Bismarck ND * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values around 100 to 110. High temperatures will range from around 100 to near 110 today and 95 to 105 on Monday. * WHERE...All of western and central North Dakota including the James River Valley. * WHEN...Until 1 AM CDT /midnight MDT/ Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Low temperatures will only fall into the 70s tonight, providing little relief from the heat. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
