Heat Advisory issued June 19 at 3:40PM EDT until June 21 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH * WHAT...Heat index values of 100 to 104 degrees are expected at times this week with variability each day due to clouds and scattered showers and storms. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. The prolonged nature of the heat may increase heat stress with time. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Flood Advisory issued June 19 at 6:32PM EDT until June 19 at 9:45PM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northwest Ohio, including the following counties, Lucas and Wood. * WHEN...Until 945 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 632 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Toledo, Perrysburg, Rossford, Waterville, Northwood, Whitehouse, Holland, Maumee and Haskins. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
