Heat Advisory issued June 19 at 9:42PM EDT until June 21 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH * WHAT...Heat index values of 100 to 104 degrees are expected at times this week with variability each day due to clouds and scattered showers and storms. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. The prolonged nature of the heat may increase heat stress with time. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Conneaut OH to Ripley NY... Conneaut OH to Ripley NY beyond 5 nm off shoreline to US-Canadian border... Geneva-on-the-Lake to Conneaut OH... Geneva-on-the-Lake to Conneaut OH beyond 5 nm off shoreline to US-Canadian border... Vermilion to Avon Point OH beyond 5 nm off shoreline to US-Canadian border... Willowick to Geneva-on-the Lake OH... Willowick to Geneva-on-the-Lake OH beyond 5NM off shoreline to US-Canadian border... At 1221 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated an outflow boundary extending from strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 36 nm north of Ashtabula to 25 nm northwest of Geneva- On-The-Lake to 25 nm northwest of Fairport Harbor to 26 nm north of Avon Point to 15 nm northeast of Kelleys Island, moving east at 45 knots. The outflow boundary will move through the eastern half of Lake Erie over the next hour or two and bring a notable wind shift on the lake, along with a brief window of elevated gusts. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
