Waters from Edisto Beach SC to Savannah GA extending from 20 to 60 NM... At 918 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line from over Kiawah Reef to near Hilton Head Reef, moving east at 35 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to 34 knots. SOURCE...Buoy. The Savannah Entrance Light gusted to 34 kt. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Hunting Island Reef, Fripp Island Reef, Fripp Island Wreck, Fripp Inlet Buoy, Beaufort 45 Feet Reef, Betsy Ross Reef, General Gordon, Saint Helena Sound, Pelican Bank, Edisto Forty Reef, Port Royal Sound, Edisto Sixty Reef, Hilton Head Reef, Fish America and Gaskins Bank Wreck. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects. Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office.
