Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued July 2 at 2:03PM CDT until July 2 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Aberdeen SD THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 439 IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN SOUTH DAKOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 16 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA BUFFALO HAND HUGHES HYDE JONES LYMAN STANLEY SULLY IN NORTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA FAULK POTTER IN NORTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA CLARK CODINGTON DEUEL GRANT HAMLIN SPINK THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CLARK, CLEAR LAKE, FAULKTON, FORT PIERRE, FORT THOMPSON, GETTYSBURG, HAYTI, HIGHMORE, KENNEBEC, MILBANK, MILLER, MURDO, ONIDA, PIERRE, REDFIELD, AND WATERTOWN.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 2 at 7:06PM CDT until July 2 at 7:15PM CDT by NWS Aberdeen SD At 706 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from over Tunerville to near Lake Cochrane Rec Area, or along a line from 10 miles north of Clear Lake to 13 miles southeast of Clear Lake, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe thunderstorm will be near... Gary, Lake Cochrane Rec Area, Moritz, Tunerville and Altamont around 710 PM CDT. Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds.
