Flood Watch issued June 6 at 7:47PM CDT until June 7 at 4:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of north central Texas, including the following counties, Bosque, Hamilton, Hill and Mills. * WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected with localized rainfall totals as high as 6 to 8 inches possible. Northern Bosque County in central Texas... Northwestern Hill County in central Texas... Southwestern Johnson County in north central Texas... * Until 230 AM CDT. * At 1123 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Meridian, Blum, Iredell, Lake Whitney, Meridian State Park, Rio Vista, Walnut Springs, Morgan, Retreat, Cedar Shores, Eulogy, Kopperl, Lakeside Village and Brazos Point. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
