Wind Advisory issued June 18 at 2:28AM EDT until June 18 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Burlington VT * WHAT...South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts between 45 and 55 mph expected. * WHERE...All of northern New York and most of Vermont outside of Orange and eastern Windsor counties. * WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down with isolated to scattered power outages possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be between 9 AM and 1 PM, especially in the northern Champlain Valley and northern slopes of the Adirondacks, with another round of strong winds in northern New York between 3 PM and 8 PM. Fully leafed out trees will result in more tree damage than with similar wind speeds during the colder months of the year. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.

Windsor County in southern Vermont... * Until 330 PM EDT. * At 227 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Bridgewater, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind damage to trees and powerlines. * Locations impacted include... Woodstock, Chester, Hartland Four Corners, Cavendish, Killington, Thetford Hill State Park, Ludlow Village, Perkinsville Village, Mt. Holly, Pomfret, Plymouth, Thetford, Hartland, Barnard, Windsor, Woodstock Village, Mount Holly, Ludlow, Sharon, and Mount Tabor. This includes the following highways... Interstate 89 between mile markers 1 and 14. Interstate 91 between mile markers 39 and 49, between mile markers 51 and 61, between mile markers 63 and 71, near mile marker 73, and between mile markers 75 and 86. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
